Polyacrylonitrile copolymer

1. Introduction to polyacrylonitrile copolymer
Pure polyacrylonitrile (PAN) has excellent barrier properties, but due to its excessive water absorption, it seriously affects the barrier properties and other properties of PAN, and is difficult to process. Therefore, pure PAN is rarely used, and PAN copolymers are commonly used. PAN copolymers can effectively reduce their water absorption and basically maintain their original barrier properties.
2. Structural performance
PAN copolymer has excellent gas barrier properties, and has good aroma and flavor retention properties. The transmittance coefficient of O2 is 8 (cm3), the transmittance coefficient of CO2 is 16 (cm3), and the transmittance coefficient of H2O is 50 (g), which is worse than EVOH and PVDC and comparable to MXD6.
The barrier properties of PAN copolymers are affected by temperature and humidity, and their sensitivity to temperature is close to EVOH, but smaller than that of PVDC. PAN copolymers have good chemical resistance, medium tensile strength, and good impact properties after modification with rubber or biaxial stretching.
