The extruder screw realizes these functions of the screw

Extrusion molding equipment mainly includes two parts: main machine and auxiliary machine. The main machine is called an extruder, which is composed of an extrusion system (screw, barrel), feeding device, etc. As the heart of the extruder, the screw has a very important impact on the quality and output of the extruder product. The main function of a screw is to transport materials, transfer heat to plasticize materials, and mix and homogenize materials. In order to realize these functions of the screw and adapt to changes in the physical state of the material, the conventional full-flight screw is usually designed into three sections.
The first section is the feeding section, also known as the conveying section, which is a section extending forward from the material feeding port. Generally, the pitch of the screws is equal, and the depth of the screws is also equal, that is, the screws are equidistant and equal in depth. The second segment is the compression segment, also known as the migration segment. The screw rods in this section are equally spaced and not equal in depth, mainly in order to adapt to the change of the material state, and the volume of the screw cavity gradually decreases. The third section is the homogenization section, also known as the metering section. The screw in this section is the same distance and depth as the feeding section, but the depth of the screw groove is shallower than that of the feeding section.
